Admitted, transaction SARA has not changed a lot in recent years (decades?), so it's fair that with ILM SAP have released a web interface that allows easier (though limited) access to archiving functionality and has the same look-and-feel as the interfaces for ILM rule and policy definitions.
It's called SAP ILM Workcenter and documented here. You need to activate a business function to use, but if you do, you get a cross-archiving-object overview of past, current and future archiving runs and are even enabled to trigger pre-processing, writing and deletion through this interface.
As SAP write themselves, this is aimed at users that are new to data archiving and are looking for an easier interface. Along those lines, I would recommend that experienced users still use transaction SARA (it's just faster than the web interface) but see if the ILM Workcenter helps them get a 360° view of their archiving runs, something that SM37 (Job View) does not adequately provide.
